This Wednesday 19th November a group of coaches from Parkour Generations will be running a workshop in promotion of Mirror's Edge , a new game which heavily features Parkour.
The workshop will be held at Bellahouston Leisure Centre from 6pm till 9pm.

To try to make it as easy as possible for everyone to attend, Glasgow Parkour are arranging a mass meet up at Ibrox Underground Station at 515pm before the event - we will run from the station to Bellahouston at 530pm.

Tuesday 14th at 3.30 -5pm and Sunday 19th 3-4.30.
The sessions will then continue weekly on Sundays from 3-4.30 until mid December and then pick up again in the New Year.

Classes are first come first served, so please book in early!

These workshops are great progress for the Scottish Parkour community, as it is one of the first permanent youth classes in the country.

Launch of Fortnightly Regulars Class

Chris will be running a 'regulars' class which will be starting on Thursday 23 October 7pm-9pm and continuing fortnightly.
The class is designed for practitioners who already have a good grounding in fitness and techniques for Parkour and those who have been attending the adult class for 3 months or more.
The Class will be very different from the usual format, and much harder physically and mentally. It is a chance for the coaches to get creative in their training ideas and the regulars to do something a bit different to supplement their training.
Class is limited to just 5 places and will be £6 per session.

Gravity Style/Prodigal Theatre visit

The Prodigal Theatre show and workshops at Merchant City Festival were a great success. Our thanks go out to The Urban Playground team for sharing their knowledge and creating a new and positive awareness for our community.
The Glasgow Parkour community thoroughly enjoyed the workshops and many new people were introduced to Parkour over the weekend. We are extremely grateful for UPG's time.

If you have found your way here as a result of these shows, feel free to browse around and check out the classes page if you are interested in learning Parkour.

Also please check out glasgowparkour.co.uk for the main community website and forums.

Glasgow Parkour Youth Academy

As a result of the workshops for young people in The Tramway over the summer, a permanent weekly youth academy is in the process of being set up and will hopefully be up and running by the end of October. A weekly class for young people will hopefully bring some new members to the community and allow them to learn in the correct manner.

Keep an eye on this site for details - as soon as the class is ready to launch it will be announced here.

Gravity Style/Prodigal Theatre visits Glasgow

As part of the Merchant City Festival on September 27 and 28 Prodigal Theatre and Gravity Style will be bringing their show 'The Urban Playground' to Merchant Square in Glasgow, as well as running workshops and open sessions for the public and the Glasgow Parkour community.

Gravity Style is the organisation ran by Malik Diouf and Charles Perriere, who were part of the original Yamakasi group.

Summer Comes to an end....

Glasgow Parkour Coaching have had a good season with various youth projects taking place in the Tramway, Balloch and around various areas outside of Glasgow.
The Tramway project in particular was a great success with numbers doubling in the classes in the space of 4 weeks and there are now wheels in motion to set up a permanent weekly youth class.

Adult Classes-- The adult classes have been excellent over Summer, with a good bunch of regulars progressing extremely well. As summertime closes its doors, we encourage every student to keep up their training and progress which has been exceptional over the last few months. Some of the best classes so far have taken place in the pouring rain - expect a lot more of that in winter!
The Girls Class is on hold for a few weeks until Chris Grant recovers from an injury.
The Adult Class is still happening every Wednesday - see the classes page for details.

Glasgow Parkour

The Main Glasgow Parkour site has had a series of updates with new videos and articles added for inspiration - head over to glasgowparkour.co.uk and check it out!
